"South African Greetings"

Tiffany Singleton

(Editor's Note: This past Summer, while The Well was still meeting at First Christian, our church's first missionary was prayed over sent out to infinity and beyond!  Tiffany Singleton is in month five of a nine month mission to Africa, and writes and shares pictures with us in the following update about her travels and adventures thus far...)

Dear Church Family,

I'm excited to tell you about what God has been doing here in Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa! I have been living here for 5 months now and have watched the Lord move in huge ways - not only in my heart but also in the hearts and lives of many people I have come to know and love. God has totally and completely blown me away with His faithfulness. Paul definitely knew what He was talking about when he said God is able to do "exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or imagine!"

My main ministry here in Jeffrey's Bay is working in one of the townships with an organization called The Joshua Project - an outreach to children who live on the street or who are "at risk" and come from abusive or dysfunctional homes. The Joshua Project offers a free school for the street kids in the morning and an after school program for the "at risk" and abused kids in the afternoon. It has been a very challenging 5 months as most of the kids I work with everyday are extremely tough. They don't really like the idea of authority. Although, for some reason every single day I spend at The Joshua Project (even the days when I get so frustrated I come home crying) I fall even more in love with the kids there!

Most of them have never experienced unconditional love and so it has been a beautiful thing to watch them for the first time ever realize that they are important and special and that they are going to continue to be loved - no matter how many times they curse or kick me in the leg! God has taught me so much through those kids - mostly patience - but also about loving the unlovable. I can share with them how MUCH God cares for EVERY SINGLE ONE of His children, even the ones society has rejected or pushed to the side. The Joshua Project kids have definitely stolen a huge piece of my heart and I'm pretty sure they are not going to be giving it back to me when I leave here in May!

Please keep me and my team in your prayers over next few months as we continue our ministry here in Jeffrey's Bay! If anyone has any questions or would like to know more about what's happening here, please email me at TiffanySingleton7@gmail.com. Thank you so much for all of your love and support - you are all such a huge blessing in my life!

God Bless,

Tiffany Singleton
