"Easter on the Moon!" Dean Inserra Whenever I was home in Tallahassee on a break from college, I would regularly join my friends at The Moon for a Friday night of Stetson's. While taking “booty-breaks” and doing the Cha-Cha Slide, I never imagined that one day I would get to stand in that very same room and preach the good news of Jesus Christ. What an amazing opportunity! I have never been more excited about a worship service in my life. I have been praying daily that God will do something special at Easter on The Moon this Sunday.Easter is a day of celebrating the amazing truth that Christ is exactly who he claimed to be. The fact that the very man who was crucified on a cross three days prior was walking around the town gives us confidence that he truly was God. His tomb was empty--and I cannot think of a better place to celebrate than one of Tallahassee's most popular spots. The vision of the Well is to present an everlasting truth to an ever-changing culture. There is no greater truth in all of history than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For whatever reason, many people are open to attending Church on Easter Sunday. I have never understood this due to the very event they claim to be celebrating. This isn't St. Patrick's Day--it is the day we celebrate the fact that our God is so mighty that he came back to life after he was literally dead for three days! However, this is the reality of a city's culture that is far from God. Every single person who attends the Well has the opportunity to invite friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to attend an Easter Service at The Moon. We are literally hosting our event at Grand Central Station when it comes to Tallahassee life. This event paints a perfect portrait of the heartbeat and vision of our Church. We must regain a sense of urgency when it comes to reaching people for Christ. Pastor Clayton King, while speaking at a church in South Carolina, recently said, "We're in the south–where the tea is sweet and the chicken is fried…and EVERYONE is a Christian because, at some point in their life they darkened the doors of a church." Let's take advantage of the opportunity God has given us. At The Well this past Sunday we passed out a "3 Musketeers" candy bar to everyone who walked into the auditorium at Godby High School. The candy bar represented the fact that everyone knows three people who need an invitation to Easter on The Moon. Please do no squander this opportunity to allow your friend to attend a gathering that is unique to anything that has ever taken place in Tallahassee. I am really looking forward to hearing Lindsay Knipple share her story of how Christ has changed her life. If you have friends who are far from God, hearing Lindsay's story will be worth the invitation. Please pray for Lindsay, Scott, The Band, our leaders and me as we prepare for a special evening. See you Sunday night at 5:30…on the Moon!
