"Still Thanksgiving after Thanksgiving"

Dean Inserra

As Krissie and I were driving down to South Florida for Thanksgiving I thought about how bizarre it really is that all the cars on the road were full of people who were driving long distances to eat dinner. If we are honest, Thanksgiving Day has become nothing more than a family tradition where we eat together and play a little football. In fact, you are probably wondering why I am writing about Thanksgiving when it is already old news. It is Christmas season already! We actually saw people camped outside Circuit City on Thanksgiving night to get in line for Black Friday sales. It is out of control if you ask me!

What I am trying to express is that as followers of Jesus Christ, we should live in a constant state of thanksgiving. So, let's kick the Christmas Season off the right way by truly thanking God for sending his only Son to Bethlehem to later die for the sins of the world.

Here are some things that I am constantly thanking God for in my life (even after we all go around the table and say what we are thankful for):

-I am thankful that I am saved by grace. I would be in huge trouble otherwise

-I am thankful that I am married to an amazing woman. I cannot explain to you the pressure of being a Pastor's wife. I don't know anyone who does it better.

- I am thankful for Tommy, and great doctors at Shands and in Tallahassee.

-I am thankful that my parents, brother, and sister are part of this mission we are calling the Well. It is kind of weird being their Pastor.

-I am thankful for Scott Simmons. I cannot even begin to tell you how I feel about him. Thank you, Jesus, for Scott.

-I am thankful for Jen Simmons for her sacrifice of Scott's time.

-I am thankful for the many people who are the Well, not just a part of it. You are the Church.

-I am thankful for the many people we are going to see come to know Jesus Christ as Lord because of the amazing grace He will allow them to receive.

Let's be thankful together,
Dean
